The Clinical Path: Yoga for Recovery
Moving beyond talk therapy. Utilizing Sakshi Bhava (Witness Consciousness) to address the roots of addiction and foster post-traumatic growth.
In the West, Substance Use Disorder (SUD) is often treated solely through the mind. But addiction lives in the body. My work integrates a Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology with a Ph.D. in Yoga Science to offer a holistic alternative to the standard commercial model.
We utilize the ancient technology of Sakshi Bhava—the practice of the 'Witness.' By developing the capacity to observe our cravings, traumas, and thoughts without being consumed by them, we create the space necessary for true $Moksha$ (liberation) and lasting recovery.
The Sakshi Bhava Method
Rooted in Tradition: Not a fitness-based 'asana' model, but a lineage-based strategy for the soul.
Evidence-Based: Designed through doctoral research to address the neurological and psychological roots of dependency.
Somatic Integration: Bringing the body into the room to process trauma that words cannot reach.
Post-Traumatic Growth: True recovery is not a destination; it is an evolution. We shift the narrative from mere survival to spiritual liberation.
Bloom With Us
For Individuals:
Holistic counseling and private
Sadhana
focused on recovery and mental health.
For Therapists: Clinical consultation on integrating yoga tools into your existing practice.
For Organizations: Implementation of the Yoga for Recovery and Sakshi Bhava curriculum in IOP and residential settings.
Recovery is a communal act. Part of the commitment to the path involves offering accessible classes and organizing fundraisers for local non-profits, including Spirits Place Cat Rescue. True healing happens when we extend our practice beyond the mat and into the service of others.
